Makeup artistry is the skill of applying makeup to a client to enhance and beautify their features in order to appear in front of a camera. It is a profession that requires some level of natural artistic ability supplemented with application techniques learned in a classroom environment. 

A makeup artist’s work spans a broad range of environments from fashion photography to runway shows, to film, television and theater and even weddings, public appearances, press junkets and red carpets.
